Relationships lead to opportunities
We really had no idea what we were doing when we started Lucky… It started with a passion and has been evolving as we go. We knew a couple things. That we wanted to be genuine, to inspire and to be apart of something bigger. We wanted to grow relationships and to work beside amazing people and companies.
We reached out to some friends and business colleagues and asked if we could take some photos and maybe a video for their business. We explained the power of social media and how we felt that the days of hard sales were over. That in order to grow a successful business you had to build meaningful relationships and to show your audience that they were part of something.
I think realistically we had no idea the help we would need to start something like this. It’s a new way of thinking. Everyone has Facebook and Instagram for their business but not many people were doing what COULD be done to grow their business. (Neither were we… but that’s a talk for a different day) We had many failed meetings, but the ones that listened with an open mind understood. It’s not that we were just selling our services, we were trying to help businesses understand the direction the world is going. TV and radio are dying… Most of us are watching Netflix and listening to Spotify. Commercial space is getting more and more expensive because of this and it’s getting harder for them to sell space and to even believe they are the better alternative.
Through the months we have met some incredible people and the amount of support we have gotten from people in similar (but different) industry’s has been mind blowing. Networking is so important but it’s important to remember, you get what you put in. We have some amazing opportunities in front of us and I believe that the reason for that is based solely on the fact that we want to build meaningful relationships. If you get anything out of this (it’s my first blog and I’m aware I’m rambling lol) it’s not to look for opportunities through relationships… it’s about building relationships and creating opportunities.
